Hitting the ground running!

I made it! The flight was long. That's really the only way to put it. About 35 hours door-to-door. Apparently flying through Hong Kong is the long way, but at least it was buisness class. I really don't know how it could be done in economy.

Although exhausted when I arrived on Sunday I forced myself to walk around Melbourne, or at least Bourke St, which is the shopping area near my hotel. I found lots of ethnic restaurants (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indian) so I should be set for eating on weekends. The weather is beautiful (although windy and occasionally rainy) and the people are super nice. Really friendly and funny.

Work is good too (I just finished day two). I'm working on something slightly different than I anticipated, but it's really interesting and I have a lot to learn. My team is really nice. The city I'm in Monday - Thursday is pretty dead, and the hotel here doesn't compare to the Park Hyatt in Melbourne. I'm still waking up every night in the 3am-5am range, so if anyone back home is around in the early afternoon send me an email. You might just get a phone call!

That's all my updates for now. I'ts 6:34pm here and I'm going to actually venture into the hotel restaurant rather than ordering room service. Big night tonight! Then I'll try to get smart on what I'm supposed to be an expert on until I can't stay awake any longer. Hoping to make it till 9pm!!

Missing everyone at home, but mostly am just too tired to even notice (ha).
